ARTEMIS is the name of the first female jazz supergroup! It consists of pianist Renee Rosnes, saxophonist Melissa Aldana, clarinetist Anat Cohen, trumpeter Ingrid Jensen, bassist Noriko Ueda, drummer Allison Miller and singer Cécile McLorin Salvant.
ARTEMIS not only brings together seven female artists, all known for their solo careers, but also an international cast from the USA, Canada, France, Chile, Israel and Japan.
The band's Blue Note debut consists of nine groovy songs, all composed or arranged by the instrumentalists themselves. Don Was, President of Blue Note: "While every member of the band is a true jazz titan, here the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. ARTEMIS' music is sophisticated, full of power and soul, and their groove is deep".
