Beth Gibbons and the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra present Henryk Górecki's »Symphony No. 3« in 2019.

Together, the soprano and singer from Portishead and the Polish Orchestra conducted by Krzysztof Penderecki dedicated themselves to the legendary symphony of the famous Polish composer. Górecki's third symphony is nicknamed the »Symphony of Sorrowful Songs« and is by far his most famous work.

The concert is now available in picture and sound. This is Beth Gibbons' first release since 2008's Portishead album Third.

The performance on which this recording is based took place on November 29, 2014 at the National Opera Grand Theater in Warsaw.

Beth Gibbons had previously prepared intensively for the concert, learned the original text, and all without first speaking the Polish language.
