In addition to being one of the most played studio drummers of all time (the "Purdie Shuffle" has graced everything from Aretha Franklin to Steely Dan), Bernard Purdie has also thrown in a few sessions of his own. Purdie Good! was recorded in early 1971 by legendary sound engineer and audio obsessive Rudy Van Gelder in his bespoke studio and offers a masterful blend of three Purdie originals and three covers of current hits, most notably a whirlwind ride through James Brown's "Cold Sweat" .
This 180 gram re-release from Purdie Good! was cut from the original analogue tapes by Kevin Gray and pressed at RTI and comes in a tip-on jacket.
