Getz, Stan / Evans, Bill - Stan Getz & Bill Evans - LP 180 Gr. (Acoustic Sounds Series)
VINILO NUEVO. MASTERING BY RYAN K. SMITH, SUPERVISED BY CHAD KASSEM.
After Acoustic Sounds released a vinyl reissue of Bill Evans "Trio 64" in August 2021, jazz lovers can also look forward to the new edition of "Trio 65" in 2022.
Verve's Acoustic Sounds Series regularly presents reissues of the world's best and most historically important jazz records. Mastered by Ryan K. Smith at Sterling Sound from the original analogue tapes, they are released on 180g LPs.
Along with Miles Davis and John Coltrane, Evans is one of the outstanding figures of modern jazz. The pianist inspired a whole generation of pianists to follow him. In the course of his career he played continuously in the classic jazz trio line-up. From 1956 until his death in 1980, around 20 different musicians stood by his side in changing ensembles.
In 1965, these included drummer Larry Bunker and bassist Chuck Israels, with whom Evans recorded the album »Trio 65« on February 2, 1965 in New York City. The record was produced by Creed Taylor.
And although all eight tracks heard on this Verve release have been recorded by the pianist on other occasions, these trio versions are entirely original interpretations that stand on their own, including the heartbreaking 'Who Can I Turn To? « alongside »If You Could See Me Now« and Johnny Carisi's »Israel«. The full track listing of »Trio 65« can be found below.
